Pepper Steak

This is really yummy pepper steak! Here is the recipe:
2-3 lbs. flat iron steak (or any steak you prefer), cut into 1/4" strips
1 chicken bouillon cube, dissolved in 1/2 C. hot water
2 cloves of garlic
3 T. soy sauce
1 large onion, finely sliced into strips
1 T. sugar
1/8 tsp. black pepper (I like more)
1 T. flour
2 T. water
2 green peppers, cut into this strips

Slice the steak into 1/4" slices.
Brown pieces of meat on all sides. Remove from pan. Pour bouillon into pan, add whole garlic cloves and simmer for 3-4 minutes; remove garlic.
I chopped up the garlic, which was the wrong thing to do....DO NOT CHOP UP THE GARLIC! These are 2 green peppers from my garden.
TIP: To make peppers not so hot, remove all of the seeds and the white ribs.
Slice green peppers and onion.
To the pan, add soy sauce, onion, sugar and pepper. I also added the green pepper at this point but if you like them more crunchy, add them at the end. Blend flour to smooth paste with water in cup; stir into onion mixture.
Add browned meat; cover tightly. Simmer Stirring occasionally, 20 minutes, or until meat is tender. Add green peppers at this point if you didn't already, simmer 10 more minutes.
This is the sauce that I made for it.
Sour Cream Ranch Sauce:
1 8 oz. container sour cream
1 packet ranch powder mix
a little milk
chopped chives or cilantro

Mix the packet of ranch into the sour cream. Add a little milk until you get the consistency that you like and mix in some chopped chives or cilantro. Keep in fridge until ready to use.
Serve on wraps or it might be good on a bed of rice also. Enjoy!
Keeping Things Fun!
