State Fair Fun

The kids and I went to the State Fair this weekend. We had a lot of fun! The kids were really good for being just me and them for half of the day. The first thing we did was go down the big slide with Weedas then we walked through all of the animal barns and found all of the BIG animals. Then we got a cup of fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies for lunch....healthy, I know....but so tasty....and it's the fair!! While we were having 'lunch', we made our way down to the petting zoo. Vince wanted to feed something then decided against it! Rori tried to feed everything and Ellie slept.
I don't remember what this was, but it was something deer like I think! Me and my good memory!!

The goats were not hungry. They had been fed too much I guess....and it was only 11 AM! Rori kept trying with the whole heard(?) though!

These dairy calves were hungry though! She fed the rest of her cup to them.

Then Rori rode the ponies. Of course, I couldn't convince Vince to do it! Then we walked up the main street and rode on Ye Old Mill.

After all that walking, we were hot so we went to play in the fountain. Ellie wasn't so sure at first!

Rori jumped right in and it took Vince just a little bit of watching before he jumped in. They were trying to cover up this spot where the water came out!

After Vince got plenty wet, he got right down in the center where the water shoots up high...then he thought it was fun to come give me wet hugs! It did feel nice!

Ellie got a little wet and still wasn't quite sure, but she warmed up to it and got good and wet a little while later!

Hanging out on a rock getting sprayed.

Then we went and met up with Grandma and Grandpa. We saw all the new baby animals and then went to Little Hands On The Farm and the State Fair Ribbons were going through at the same time.

We went down to take Rori on a roller coaster but when we got down there, she was too short so we didn't get to go. She was disappointed. So instead she jumped on the bungee trampoline.

And she tried to do a flip but couldn't quite figure out how to get her feet over!

Watching sissy jumping.

A tired baby girl!

Then she did the rock climbing....in sparkly pink shoes!! She wanted to try everything we walked by!

"Don't take my picture!"

Then we went to a horse show. It was interesting. I had never actually been to a show before, just saw them outside going to the show. The Jacobsen Building is a very nice air-conditioned building for the horses. These two pictures of the horses are ones that Vince took while playing with my camera!

These dapple grey (I don't actually know the correct term, sorry!) horses were very pretty. Then we had supper.....I had a roast beef sunday....yum! Not very fair-like, but so good! And we did have cookies for lunch after all! Then is was late and time to go home so Rori and Grandpa rode the sky glyder to the top of the hill. We had a fun and tiring day at the fair. We saw all we could see in one day! Can't wait to go again next year...the older the kids get, the more fun they have!

Keeping Things Fun!
Jess
