This is really good and really simple! I'm not sure what it's actually called so we'll just call it Apple Dessert. I got this recipe from a friend of mine who made it once.
5-6 apples
1 box yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks butter
cinnamon (optional)
Generously butter an 8x8 inch baking dish. Core and peel your apples. Slice about 1/4 inch thick and place in a large bowl. Dump in the yellow cake mix. I found that the butter recipe cake mix turns out sweeter than the mixes that you make without butter. Stir those up and dump into your baking dish. Sprinkle cinnamon on top is desired. Cut up your butter into small squares and sprinkle them all over the apple mix. The butter and the apple juices mix to make the cake cakelike. Make sure your butter is really cold when you cut it. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Enjoy! It's great with homemade ice cream. Next time we make that, I'll post the recipe for it.
