Special K Bars

Yummy! I know this is a recipe that everyone probably already has, but this is something that I remember my Grandma making for us all the time.

When we got married, I had everyone bring their favorite recipe to every shower they came to and to my wedding. I received quite a few and this is one of the one's that my Grandma gave me. I always know that it is one of hers from the handwriting.

This is what they look like a few hours after they are finished! (see recipe below)

Special K Bars:
1 C. white syrup
1 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. peanut butter
5 C. Special K Cereal (or Rice Crispies)
1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips
1 (6 oz.) bag butterscotch ships

Heat and stir sugar, white syrup and peanut butter over stove, until melted and smooth. Stir in cereal and mix well. Press into a buttered 9 by 13 inch pan.
In a heavy saucepan, melt together chocolate and butterscotch chips. Spread over creal mixture. Cut into squares.
Chocolate topping will set as it cools, but they are really yummy warm and with a glass of milk!

Keeping Things Fun!
